Spiritual Formation for the Apprentice

IMG_1835.jpeg

The focus of the apprenticeship is not just what ministry skills you learn, but the kind of person you become. Healthy ministry is built on more than sound theology and ministerial skills; what is central is relationship with Jesus, and an ongoing yielding to the Holy Spirit’s transformation.

UCM takes the spiritual and character formation of their apprentices seriously. Apprentices meet with a campus pastor for discipleship on a weekly basis, leaving ample room for personal discovery and transformation. We believe that the transformation of the inner person is essential for a vital, long term life in ministry.

The apprenticeship is designed to be a time to grow in relationship with Jesus, spiritual disciplines, emotional and spiritual health, self knowledge, and discernment of calling.
