A Christian presence on campus.
University Christian Ministries exists to support students during one of the most formative seasons of their lives. We create space for students to encounter Jesus, grow in faith, and build meaningful Christian community while on campus.
Through teaching, mentorship, and shared practices, students are formed into followers of Jesus who carry their faith into their future work, relationships, and leadership.
Our Vision
To see a Spirit-empowered movement transforming university students, the marketplace, and the world through Christ.
Our Mission
We make, mature, and mobilize followers of Jesus through Spirit-filled communities of worship, discipleship, and mission on campus.
Our Story & History
UCM’s roots trace back to 1967, when the first chaplain from the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada began serving students at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.
University Christian Ministries formally launched at UBC in 1980 and has since grown to serve students across multiple campuses. Today, UCM continues this long-standing commitment to faithful, Spirit-led Christian presence in university life.
Our Team
Our staff and campus workers share a common vision: to care for students and help them grow into all that God has for them.
We invest deeply in students as leaders — on campus today, and in their workplaces, churches, and communities tomorrow. Together, we serve with humility, adaptability, and a shared commitment to the mission of Jesus.
Our Partners
UCM operates under the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada and works alongside a network of campus ministries nationwide. These partnerships help support students, strengthen campus communities, and connect students to local churches.
We serve students from many backgrounds while remaining rooted in the life of the wider Church.
