PAOC General Conference
🇨🇦🦞🌊
Last week I attended our national Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada (PAOC) conference in Halifax—the furthest east I’ve ever travelled in Canada. We were welcomed with an incredible reception at the historic Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 and spoiled with Maritime hospitality. Lobster rolls for the win! 🥖🦞
The conference theme focused on raising sons and daughters in the faith. One of the most direct and compelling challenges I received came from "good cop, bad cop" duo, Emma & Ben Narayanan of Avant Life Church:
Every leader needs to be multiplying by 3 if we are to continue seeing the growth of the Church.
Who are the 3 you are apprenticing today?
That question has stayed with me.
Not every moment of the week was celebratory. During the business session, the conference paused as many missionaries and leaders shared honest reflections about the pain and frustrations they have experienced over the past year related to donor care and the implementation of a new financial management system. While difficult, it became a meaningful moment of clarity that called our executive leadership toward greater accountability, transparency, and relational integrity.

Even in the tension, I remain hopeful. I truly believe better days are ahead. God is at work among us.
Across our campuses, we are seeing remarkable openness in this generation—students who are spiritually curious, asking deep questions, and searching for truth.
And ultimately, the truth they are seeking is found in Jesus.
May we continue to make disciples who make disciples.
Mission Canada Guiding Group Day 🇨🇦✨
After the conference, we stayed for a full day of collaboration, connection, and mutual encouragement as we continue discerning how to best serve together in mission. It was a gift to share honest conversations, gain clarity around objectives and strategic goals, and yes—pictographs still somehow won the day. 📊😂
We wrapped the day with a wonderful meal at The Wooden Monkey, followed by a simple but memorable highlight: the $3 harbour ferry across to downtown.⛴️
Sunset over the harbour was the perfect sendoff. Twilight hour, pink skies, calm water.
Goodbye Halifax — your harbours were beautiful. 🌅
🙏 Prayer Requests
🌱 Pray for discipleship multiplication across our campuses – Pray that God would continue raising up students who are hungry for truth and open to Jesus. Ask God to help us faithfully disciple students who will go on to make disciples themselves.
🤝 Pray for wisdom and solutions within our PAOC family – Please pray for continued stabilization and improvement within the PAOC donor care and financial systems. Pray for wisdom for the consultants, working groups, and leadership teams as they pursue clear solutions and needed changes, and for our campus workers and missionaries who continue faithfully sharing the gospel on our campuses.
🇬🇹 Pray for our Guatemala Service Trip Team – Right now, a team of students and leaders from UBC and UBCO are serving alongside Global Shore Opportunities in Pastores, Sacatepéquez, Guatemala. Over these 10 days, they are supporting a local Christian school and surrounding community through practical projects, serving faculty and staff, grocery runs, and building relationships with students. Pray for safety, unity, strength, and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit as they serve. Ask that the love of Jesus would be clearly seen through their presence and that lives would be impacted through every conversation and act of service.
